Terms & Conditions

1. This Promotional Competition (“Competition”) is organised and run by Reckitt Benckiser South Africa (Proprietary) Limited and its chosen promotional agency, including its affiliates, partners, associations and agents (“Organisers”). The Competition is open for entry by all South African residents of 18 years and older with a valid South African identity document, except employees of the Organisers and its advertising and/or promotion agencies, outlet owners, retailers and wholesalers that form part of the Competition, their immediate families or anyone who, within a period of 183 days preceding this Competition has won any Competition organised, promoted, or conducted by the Organisers or who resides at the same address as such a winner, or uses the same telephone number to enter this Competition.  The Competition is not open for entry by or on behalf of a legal entity and participants cannot use the account of a legal entity to enter the Competition.
2. By entering this Competition, all participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, which be interpreted by the Organisers and the Organisers’ decision regarding any issue with the Competition will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
3. This is an Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (“USSD”) based Competition. Entry will only be via USSD, all networks supported.  Entry confirmation will be sent via USSD to all successful entrants.
4. No responsibility or liability whatsoever will be accepted or incurred by the Organisers for any entry that is not delivered, received or is delayed or damaged due to technical reasons or otherwise. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt nor confirmation of entry into the Competition.
5. USSD will be charged at standard rates of 0.20c / 20 seconds. By entering this Competition it will be deemed that the participant and/or account payer has agreed to the standard rates.
6. To enter this Competition, all participants are required to –

• buy any product of the participating brands (PARTICIPATING BRANDS INCLUDE: FINISH, HARPIC, JIK, AIR WICK, MR MIN, MORTEIN & VANISH) from a participating store.
• Dial *120*100123# with your till slip.
• You will be requested to enter the last 4 digits of your product barcode, your name and will then be required to complete a question.
  
  Retain your till slip as proof of purchase dated prior to the closing of this Competition. The Organisers has the right to disqualify any participant that cannot produce a valid till slip.

7. This Competition will run for a limited time only, from 1 September to 31 October 2018 at 23:59. All entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
8. Prizes

• The prizes are as follows-
• 1 (one) cash prize worth R1, 000 000 (One Million Rand) including VAT.
  • The total value will be transferred into the winner’s bank account by Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT).
  • The EFT will be done within 30 (thirty) days of the winner supplying us with their banking details.
• 1 (one) of 61 (sixty one) daily appliances to the total value of R211, 000 (Two Hundred and Eleven Thousand Rand) including VAT.
  • There will be 10 (ten) x R6, 000 (Six Thousand Rand) including VAT prizes, 10 (ten) x R5, 000 (Five Thousand Rand) including VAT prizes, 10 (ten) x R4, 000 (Four Thousand Rand) including VAT prizes, 10 (ten) x R3, 000 (Three Thousand Rand) including VAT prizes, 10 (ten) x R2, 000 (Two Thousand Rand) including VAT prizes and 11 (eleven) x R1, 000 (One Thousand Rand) including VAT prizes.
  • Exact appliances, make & models will be determined once winners have been drawn and verified and subject to stock availability at the time.
• Participants may enter multiple times, however, regardless of the amount of entries, participants will only be entitled to 1 (one) prize should they be drawn as the winner.
• The prizes do not cover any costs whatsoever of the winner and the Organisers will not be liable or responsible to the winner for any such costs. .
• The prizes will not be transferable or negotiable.
• The Organisers reserve the right to substitute any of the prizes at any time for an alternative prize of equal or greater value should the prize promoted not be available due to unforeseen circumstances.
• This Competition will be limited to the Republic of South Africa.

9. Competition Draw

• 10 (ten) finalists for the 1 (one) main prize of R1, 000 000 (One Million Rand) will be selected by a random system-generated-draw and the draw will be overseen by an independent person in terms of the Consumer Protection Act.
  • For the main prize of of R1, 000 000 (One Million Rand), the 10x finalists will need to provide the following to the Organisers within 10 (ten) working days of date notified as a finalist:
    • Positive identification to the Organisers
    • Proof of purchase by way of till slip from participating stores, dated prior to the end date of the Competition.
• Only finalists who are able to supply the above documentation will be eligible for the final draw.
• The final winner of the main prize of R1, 000 000 (one million rand) will be selected from the list of eligible finalists by a random system-generated-draw and the draw will be overseen by an independent person in terms of the Consumer Protection Act.
• 61 (sixty one) finalists for the 61 (sixty one) daily appliances prizes will be selected by a random system-generated-draw and the draw will be overseen by an independent person in terms of the Consumer Protection Act.
• The draws will take place within 20 (twenty) working days of the closing date of the Competition.
• The finalists will be contacted via telephone on the telephone number used to enter the Competition within 5 (five) working days of the final draw taking place.
• The Organisers will make 3 (three) attempts telephonically to contact and notify the selected finalists. If the selected finalists cannot be contacted personally after 3 (three) attempts, they will forfeit the prize and a replacement finalist will be selected from the names drawn from remaining qualifying participants.  This process shall continue until all the finalist have been contacted in terms of the Competition rules.
• In addition and in the event that a finalist is ineligible to accept a prize in terms of the Competition rules, or is unable or fails to accept a prize for any reason whatsoever, the finalist will forfeit the prize and a replacement finalist will be selected from the names drawn from remaining qualifying participants in accordance with the same process as applicable to the original draw.
• The Organisers reserve the right to select an alternative finalist in the event that they reasonably believe, in their sole discretion, that the drawn finalist has contravened any of these terms and conditions. The Organisers’ decision shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

10. Winner

• There will be 1 (one) winner of the main prize of R1, 000 000 (One Million Rand). The winner will need to provide the following to the Organisers within 10 (ten) working days of date notified as the winner, in order to qualify and receive the main prize:
  • Valid, certified bank account details in winners’ own name on their banks letterhead,
  • Proof of residency within South Africa dated within 3 months of the closing date of the Competition.

• The finalists for the 61 (sixty one) daily appliance prizes will need to provide the following to the Organisers within 15 (fifteen) working days of date notified as a finalist prior to being confirmed as a winner and receive their prize:
  • Positive identification to the Organisers
  • Proof of purchase by way of till slip from participating stores, dated prior to

the end date of the Competition.

• Day time delivery address
• The winners will have 3 (three) months after being notified as having won the prize to claim their prize. The prize & all details pertaining to the prize will be arranged with the winner via email & telephonic correspondence.
• Regardless of the amount of entries per participant, there will be only 1 (one) individual winner per prize.

11. Should the winners verbally or otherwise agree to it, the Organisers may publish the winner’s name, surname and images, including photographs, on, inter alia, the Organiser’s Facebook page and/or any other social media sites, without any liability to the Organisers or remuneration due to the winner.
12. The Competition, its prizes, and any terms and / or conditions surrounding it may be amended by the Organisers in their sole discretion at any time during the Competition, and will be applied and interpreted at the sole discretion the Organisers. Such altered terms and conditions and/or prize shall become effective immediately after being altered or on such date as may be determined by the Organisers.  No participants shall have any recourse against the Organisers as a result of the alterations of the terms and conditions and / or prize.
13. The Organisers reserves the right to extend, shorten or suspend the time period of the Competition whenever it should so choose for technical, commercial, or operational reasons, or for the greater public good, or due to a “force majeure” or generally for any reason whatsoever within its sole discretion, on condition that it notifies the participants in a manner that is expedient according to its best ability.

15. The Organisers reserves the right to terminate this Competition immediately at any stage, whether required as a result of changes in legislation, or if required by any national, provincial or municipal authority, or within the sole discretion of the Organisers for any reason whatsoever. Notice of such termination shall be published on the Competition website or on any other suitable forum.  In such an event, all participants waive any rights that they may have/purport to have in terms of this Competition, and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Organisers of whatsoever nature. 
16. All participants and the winners indemnify the Organisers, its associated and subsidiary companies, and its directors, officers and employees, against any and all claims for any loss or damages, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever from their participation in any way howsoever in this Competition.
    
    
    This Competition shall in all respects be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa and the participants and winner hereby consent and submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the South Gauteng High Court, Johannesburg in any dispute arising from or in connection with this Competition.
